What are some fun ideas for a one-year-old birthday party with a doll theme?

Our daughter is about to turn a year old and she loves dolls so I want to do some kind of doll theme. Any fun ideas on how to do that with a small budget? Especially, I would like ideas for the cake.

If you want to make a doll face cake just make a round cake and two cupcakes. Use white frosting and different food colorings to frost a doll face on the cake and then place the two cupcakes on either side to look like pigtails (add little frosting bows, too).

If there are other children coming with you could invite them to bring their own doll or stuffed animal. With a one year old it is really hard to actually plan activities for them... the party is mostly for the older children and adults that attend. Your one year old will just like watching all the excitement and eating cake!
