Baroque vs. Rococo
Both the 17th and 18 Century had a great time for the modern civilization with scientific breakthroughs, the geographical Discoveries, cultural and political changes. French rule and reign of Louis XIV in the 17th Concerned century European culture forever. In art called and architecture of this period was the Baroque, particularly in French-variant characterized opulence forms of decoration exorbitance, extravagance and theatrical background, in the intention of the proof size and power of France. According to Wieser's vanity, Louis XIV in 1682 moved his residence to Versailles and there he created unofficial capital of France. Lifestyle Court gave directions. Despite the large, expensive and sometimes just days performances, was ordered to be rigid and Versailles life. Everything was focused on the King and for the king. It was very easy, even without the success of life. Changes came about 70 years reign of Louis XIV, when the young Louis XV was ruled as King in 1715.
Despotism of his father was gone!
At the beginning of personal control of the government, from 1715 to 1723, was the uncle of King 5 years old, Philippe Charles of Orleans, as Regent. The NEW - came later than rococo, known as a style sometimes called the aristocracy. In fact, new style was a response the affluent groups of citizens, rich merchants, bankers and French aristocracy. In fact, in the beginning it was French style with domestic and famine nature existing mostly in the interior art as a decorative style to eliminate waste, stiff, overpowering theatrical Baroque. Due to the fact that Louis XV of France's capital moved back to Paris, was the most important arena for new style privet, called houses hotels in smaller scale then castles and palaces with smaller and characterized by intimacy room. Urban Lifestyle of the rich was very different from rigid, pompous Versailles life. Conscious of the new era, lived in the modern and cultural time, people had carefree approach to new life, gay and from one side and restrain domestic, of the others. First, the new style as decorative elements first to be built on the frivolous, upbeat and lighter character then Baroque concentrated. Heavy, fussy baroque decorations were replaced by whimsical, restless, undulating curves. To achieve this, and less formal character it easier baroque interiors, Rococo designers were by contrast with asymmetry, which was absolutely new taste in European Decoration. Asymmetrical decoration, including natural elements such as animals, shells, leaves, and exotic subjects were from Eastern countries such as China, for example, used with a verdict. Rococo was also quite different from the colors in Baroque vocabulary. In heavy, rich appear red, green and gilded interiors in pastel shades of pink, light blue or green colored rooms with gilded or silvered ornaments. In many cases, three-dimensional frescoes and baroque ceilings replaced by white or light colored with subtle, homes painted ornaments. already mentioned, feminine look of the new style was reflected by cultural and social position of women as mistress of King Louis XV and patron of the Rococo artist, Madame de Pompadour in France, Catherine of Russia and Maria Theresa of Austria, Rococo, was delicate, elegant, and erotic sense. Because Rococo style was secular and religious themes in art were rare, compare it with earlier baroque. Main themes, so were several variants of love, as romantic, erotic mother and also scenes of aristocratic social life and human relationships. As a romantic style of the Rococo and domestic brought different types of art and Interiors, decorative "New" objects as small sculpture, beautiful ceramics, silver objects, other household goods and develops existing furnishings, tapestries, Paintings. Undoubtedly accounted for the top decorative elements were the quintessence of the Rococo and reflects mobility, emotional and rational character of the people at that time. Unlike heavy decorated and colors, carved, symmetrical and baroque grave furniture in the Rococo were smaller, more joy and light. Upholstered chairs had upholstered arms, back and seats, consoles, cabinets, pedestals for the display of small sculptures. Freestanding, portable, and sensitive carved curved, often with chinoiserie furniture was typical taste In contrast to the baroque. Three other exemplary, there was in the Baroque, Rococo residual materials were glass, porcelain and metal. At first porcelain exported from China, was later produced by European manufacturers as well. Metal was generally less than elegant accessories for the use and then in the Baroque chimneypieces, balustrades and furniture parts and other decorative objects. Rococo, French originality spread in Europe, especially Italy, Spain, Germany, Russia, and Austria, Holland, Czech Republic and Poland in minute detail. In England, in turn, developed rococo a director. It was emphasized in particular, as in some types of influential French art. In architecture rococo different than decorative style to the Baroque was there in small ways, especially in the reconstruction and renovation of existing buildings. Leading positions in rococo facades asymmetrical arrangement were used, instead of back domes, roofs were used as the slope of the mansard roofs, for example, shells motives, pastel colors, Design and "human" scale. In fact, Rococo, assessed by the Baroque, but with totally different circumstances of the revolt, even against mood in Times of similar elements, but unlike intention, this model was to act independently and humanist. But for me, Rococo too opulent, too many elements and impudence in use, S-shapes and floral motifs with chinoiserie merged the existing pure forms to prevent a clear appearance, Master decorations and private, individual character. Finally, after all for me the most important principle of the architecture and design is less is more.
