Holmegaard Glass Factory

History
The home of the famous Holmegaard Glassworks is located in Fensmark Products (Part Holmegaard). The company is Launch in 1823, when Count Christian Danneskjold Samse petition to the Danish king for permission to a glass factory in Holmegaard Mose ("Holmegaard Bog") to build. He died before the license was issued. But after his death, when at last was permitted to his widow, Countess Henriette pursued Danneskjold-Samse the project and began production in 1825 of the green bottles, moving on to table-glass within the first ten years.
Much of his early work was derivative and inconsequential, but between the 1930s and 1980s, his fortunes were designed by Jacob E. Bang (1899-1965), Per Ltken (1916-1998), and transformed Bang's son, Michael (1944-2002).
Today the company is known for its high-quality products of Danish design.
The Ltken Era
Danish glassmakers worked at Per Ltken Holmegaard from 1942 until his death in 1998, making some of the finest pieces of factory and all-time classics such as "Idelle" series, the "glasses Ships" and "Provence" Bowls.
The work of Pro Ltken is still rated high, especially in Scandinavia and in Denmark and Sweden in particular.
The arrival Ltken at the Holmegaard marks a new beginning in the history of the factory, which bloomed again after several years of suffering. His aesthetic creations, in timeless Designs fit the fashion of the 1960s in Denmark, and his creations was a great success throughout the decade and the 1970s.
