M:tG Stuffy Doll, Guilty Conscience, Near-Death Experience?

Let's say I put Stuffy Doll into play and targeted myself.....for some reason.
If I have Stuffy Doll enchanted with Guilty Conscience and I tap to deal infinite damage to myself, will Near-Death Experience check for requirements between each 1 damage dealt to me? Or will I have to stop the cycle of damage when I have exactly 1 life to win the game?

Near-Death Experience has an intervening if clause (that is, it's worded "At/When/Whenever (trigger condition), if (if clause), (effect)". What that means is that the if cluse must be true both at the time it would trigger and when it resolves, or it won't take effect. If you have more than 1 life at the beginning of your upkeep, NDE won't even trigger in the first place. Because of this, you'll have to pull the combo off before your upkeep, or in other words at the end of your opponent's turn at the latest. Since neither part of the combo is optional, you'll have to find some other way to stop it before you kill yourself if you want to win with NDE.
