Do you think it should usually be a "Santa" brings just a toy?
In our house and my house husbands, as they mature Santa would make a great toy, and then the stocking stuffers. We do the same for our children. How do you explain that your child is really good and has a present from Santa Claus and was satisfied until she learns that Suzy Bad Girl Barbie dream house, TV and holiday get to Disneyland and now your child views their computer Barbie, which she was initially pleased, but now it looks like Santa Dinky? Do you think that would be the belief of Santa longer exsist we all have a sort of unspoken Rule? Quirky, it's a great idea that my daughter is currently donate their toys every 6 mos or so ... what a great idea!
I agree with you! It helps the myth so much more if only Santa has room for a toy for everyone. My husband and I agreed that the "big" toy will always be Santa, and everything else will be by Mama and Papa. And we have already warned our parents not to put "From Santa" on their gifts to her. I think it will help them see that their family loves them, and gives her gifts, not just Santa. As far as what to do when the child on the street everything from Santa, well, you have to be creative. Say something like "Santa, we knew we wanted to love you and give your toys, so we left him a note to bring only one thing," or something along those lines. Not a question you caught off-guard by his! Or you could say, a kind of truth-that help the parents "" Santa as he claimed, additional gifts from him to give, but there was only one "real" Santa is a gift --- wink, wink. "It takes a lot of imagination to the story hold on, but it is so worth it! Kids so excited at the thought of Christmas and Santa and magic, and we should keep it going as long as we can!
