Rainbow Brite
Premise
In the franchise back story, a little orphan girl named Wisp is taken by an unknown force, the colorless world. You need the sphere of light, but on it, she befriends a sprite, Twink, and a majestic white horse known as Starlite. She rescues the seven Color Kids (one for each color of the rainbow) and finds the Color Belt, which needs the tool they will bring color to the country. After use, the King of Shadows (aka Evil Force known and nervous defeat the Dark One), an evil being hooded with the fingers, the unknown force designate Wisp as Rainbow Brite. She and the Color Kids (and their helpers, the Sprites) live in Rainbow Country and are responsible for all the colors on Earth.
The paint work needs Belt Star Sprinkles colored. Each color is for Kid's Their respective color, and their Sprites mine Color Crystals from the Color Caves, which are turned into Star Sprinkles by a process similar to using cookie cutters. In the 2009 version, the functions of the color belt yet, but Rainbow Brite and the other powers have Sky and scepter.
The movie Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer, in 1985, a magical world of light called Spectra, also called the diamond planet. All the light in the universe must pass through Spectra before it to Earth. The Dark Princess causes problems, when they wrap ropes around Spectra (to the huge diamond to her palace Hol), blocks from the light and throws the earth into trying a permanent winter.
Characters
Rainbow Brite and the Color Kids in the "Brand New Day" song from the movie Star Stealer
Rainbow Brite (originally Wisp before taking that name) and her white Sprite Twink. In one of the books, it turns out that Twink Used to be red, until rogue Murky Dismal cast him into the pits him from emptying his colors.
Starlite Rainbow Brite is talking, Flying Horse, who calls himself "the most beautiful horses in the universe." He is a yellow star on his forehead, and his white mane and tail are rainbow colors.
Color Kids
The names of each color kid's head sprite exist in parentheses, although several sprites name. Unless stated, Sprite is the color of each color kid he or she belongs. See all the sprites, identical except for their colors, and in some cases, antennas. Regular Sprites have star-antennas.

Note that some sprites have different names in different regions and languages. For example, in the UK in the 1980 line, OJ Name Saucy, and in Spain and Mexico, Sassy. In Britain, Hammy is the name Encore. There are also many other named and unnamed Sprites in the cartoon, and books.
Just for Kids
Although often thrown into a pot with Color Kids, there are a few residents of Rainbow Country, which is not much with colors to do. In the 2009 version to join Tickled Pink and Rainbow Brite Moonglow as the sky Powers.
Stormy
Together with her non-speaking horse Skydancer, Stormy lives in the clouds and is responsible for storms, rain, and in winter (her favorite of the season). Stormy does not appear to have a sprite, although in the episode "Invasion of Rainbow Country, "an unnamed Sprite match the color of their clothes around them follows (perhaps an indigo violet or Sprite). Skydancer is dark purple with light purple Hair with a flash to his / her head. Skydancer's gender does not reveal, and in contrast to Starlite has Skydancer the ability to fly alone. Tickled Pink

Friends
Baby Brite
It is named this product in the line and appears only in the beginning of Rainbow Country, where it is "the baby". She has pink hair and is the form that carried the ball of light in the dark areas. Rainbow Brite find them, and because you go into a cave from the rain, which it will receive to determine the Color Belt.
Lens hood

Orin
Also appearing in the film, is an old white Orin Sprite Spectra. Its origin is from the spheres at the ends of his hand antennas Spectran all sprites have. The sprites on Rainbow country had always thought that he was real, while the Kids Color believed him to be only a legend.
On-X
Pronounced "Onyx," he is black Orin robot horse. His red mane lights up when he speaks, and blue rays coming out of his feet allow him to fly. He can save a message for someone that can be accessed by pressing the button on the chest. (At the end of the film Star Stealer, there Orin On-X Krys.)
Brian
see the only boy on Earth, Rainbow Brite can. After school one day, he accidentally comes in a rainbow, Rainbow Brite was sent to cheer him up. This makes many colors and Rainbow Brite in Rainbow Land takes him to remove them. He gets a special key that when they are in each castle, a rainbow, he can drive on land Rainbow forms. Brian has a dog named Sam (this information is in the Rainbow Brite Treasury to find book), which only referred to as "Boy" in the TV series.
Puppy Brite & Kitty Brite
Rainbow Brite's pets. Puppy Brite makes a cameo at the beginning of the Star Stealer and appears in an episode after the film. Kitty Brite only appears in episodes produced after the film. Puppy Brite exists in the 2009 version.
Sprites Rainbow Country
Sprites Rainbow, in the country and my Colour Crystals live from the Color Caves. Perform other tasks for the Color Kids, including processing Color Crystals in Star Sprinkles and they Kart storage. They speak their own language, can understand Rainbow Brite and the Color Kids. They come in all colors of the rainbow and the stars are at the ends of their antennae.
Spectran Sprites

Murky Dismal
Murky is the villain from the pits. In the episode "Mom" It is shown that, as a toddler, he on the walls with crayons, markers, paints, rollers, and finally an industrial airbrush dyed. The Dark Princess
It is only officially as "The Princess." She lives in a palace in space and how the film of the same Star Stealer, tries to Diamond planet to steal Spectra. It takes about an emerald which she speaks as if it is a dog. She is very spoiled and greedy, even went so far as to Rainbow Brite's Color Belt after he witnessed his power to steal (although they never used himself). It has a magical jewel that is the source of their power, by the end of the Rainbow Brite Star Stealer is destroyed.
Count Blogg
A green monster that is the Dark Princess' right hand. When he was in the TV series, it appears claims to power, people to change into frogs.
Sgt Zombo
The sergeant in charge of the Prison Planet, where the dark princess sends her enemies. He is in crystal by Krys' prism Beam turns.
Glitterbots
Giant Gold-robot, which bind to hypnotize the sprites Spectran ropes around Spectra in preparation for the princess' claim of the planet for themselves.
Monstromurk
A malicious person to destroy a living as best described the storm cloud with power colors. He is trapped in a glass bottle was like a genie, given by Murky Dismal and there for more than 700 years. Murky it sought to control and use his powers against Rainbow Brite and the Color Kids, until he exempt from random Lurky. produced in the 80s most of the Barbie doll and Rainbow Brite product. The 2004 Master Toy Licensee Toy Play and Nick Jr. was the TV station that the Rainbow Brite advertised product. Starting in 2008, is one of the Master Toy License for Playmates Toys and published it on their first line of Rainbow Brite toy in January 2010.
The 2004 18 "Talking Rainbow Brite doll by Toy Play lists the colors of the rainbow produced, but leaves with green. After the contact, Toy Play noted that the doll would be for any future production runs are fixed, but there was no future volumes from Toy Play.
