What is the political relevance of Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove" today?
I know, this may answer to a difficult question, but no one think satire "Dr. Strangelove" is used to to military figures, politicians and the like dementia, and the then prevalent 'commie' paranoia, has no meaning today? Note: With regard to another question about whether "Dr. Strangelove" was shot exclusively in black and white, and why the large round table in the War Room was covered in green cloth, here's a bit of trivia. The film was shot in quite b / w (there were only a few color photos on the sets Stills taken from). Ken Adam, the production designer on this film has the following in the "Making of" DVD: Stanley Kubrick asked him, especially on the large table covered in green cloth, despite the fact that the film was shot in b / w, because Kubrick wanted to feel it, like every meeting that the table was playing poker with the fate of the world - it was a Conceptual art, what Kubrick wanted to convey.
